The stripe paintings are connected to my school days. I was 11 years old when Marimekko’s straight-line patterns T-shirts started to appear at school. They kept coming more and more. I was amazed by the swirling stripes. It has been the biggest and most revolutionary change in my visual environment throughout my life.
