During the renovation of Kerava Asemansilta in 2018-2019, a participatory urban planning art project took place. Cat figures were created by the children and youth of Keravan kuvataidekoulu (Kerava Art School) in collaboration with Keravan Kaupunkitekniikka (Kerava City Engineering). The drawings by children and young people aged 5-18 were cut into the steel railings of the bridge. In addition to the railings, three different illuminated cat gates were installed on the bridge, serving as resting and meeting places. The entire project was carried out by Keravan Kaupunkitekniikka (Kerava City Engineering). Saara Mesterton coordinated the planning and directed the work of children and young people in collaboration with the art teacher team from the art school, including Eevi Kilponen and Miia Kallio. The renovated Keravan Asemansilta was officially opened in January 2019.
